Healthy environment for both occupants and ecosystems and enhanced animal welfare continue to be critical pillars of sustainable modern food animal agriculture globally. To facilitate timely exchange of research findings/needs and to further stimulate multi-national interdisciplinary research endeavors, an International Symposium on Animal Environment and Animal Welfare (ISAEW2013) will be held on October 19-22, 2013 in Chongqing, China. This international symposium represents the inaugural occurrence of the biannual event to be sponsored by the newly established International Research Center for Animal Environment and Welfare (IRCAEW), headquartered at the Chongqing Academy of Animal Sciences, China. The symposium will provide a unique platform for information exchange and network-building among scientific professionals/pre-professionals, animal industry leaders, and policy makers with regards to discovery of knowledge, cutting–edge research and visions towards a sustainable future in food animal production.

Call for Papers:
ISHEAW2013 is soliciting papers and posters on the afore-listed topics. To submit a paper or a poster, please prepare a one page abstract (less than 500 words) with title, author(s) name(s), mailing and e-mail addresses. Posters are to be vertically oriented and should fit within a 47" high x 34" wide (120 x 86 cm) area. All papers and posters will be lightly reviewed and published in a collection of symposium proceedings.

Travel and Housing:
The Chongqing Airport code is CKG. Convenient domestic flights to Chongqing are available. For instacne, more than 15 flights are available daily from Beijing International Airport (PEK) or Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG) to Chongqing. All the symposium participants will be met by the local organizing staff at the Chongqing Airport.
A four-star hotel in Rongchang City will be the headquarters hotel for the symposium, and with a US$300 registration fee (see Registration below) the accommodations and meals of the participants during the symposium will be covered.
